Life After Cars
Join us on November 8th for a discussion on urban design and the future of transportation with The War on Cars podcast hosts Doug Gordon and Sarah Goodyear.
Heralded as a world-changing invention, automobiles promised a dream of freedom and independence. Instead, they’ve delivered pollution, noise, expense, sprawling isolated cities, climate catastrophe, and hundreds of thousands of deaths per year. But there’s still hope for a post-car-dominated world.
Doug and Sarah will talk about their new book, Life After Cars: Freeing Ourselves From the Tyranny of the Automobile, a searing indictment of how cars ruin everything, and what we can do to fight back. Joining the conversation will be Vancouver’s own recently-elected Councillor Lucy Maloney, to discuss these problems and their solutions in the context of the city we know and love.
We’re collaborating with Pulpfiction Books so that you can pre-order a copy of Life After Cars alongside your ticket purchase, to pick up at the event! Additional copies will be available for purchase onsite, while quantities last.
